However, the giant version of Spot continues floating, swallowing the Sun whole as the episode ends. He pulls out a dog treat, causing Spot to come back home and divide into a smaller version of himself. Plankton and Karen get into an argument, but SpongeBob gets an idea. Plankton arrives home to see the Chum Bucket entirely enveloped by Spot, destroying the building and continuing to grow. She synthesizes a "perpetual nutrient pill" to keep him full, but it causes Spot to expand repeatedly, since it never disintegrates. Karen tries to find him some food, but he eats the entire contents of the restaurant, and is still unsatisfied. Spot growls and barks loudly, having not been fed. Karen finally catches Spot, and brings him home. SpongeBob offers Spot a treat to get him to come back home. Spot barks into the receiver, reassuring Plankton. He asks Karen to put Spot on the phone, so SpongeBob throws it, crushing Spot. Just then, Plankton calls, saying that he is coming home early because the convention is over and he bought an explosive device. SpongeBob rides on Karen and they chase after Spot, but he is too fast for them to catch. Meanwhile, Gary rescues some injured passengers. Karen berates Spot, only for him to dissolve the leash and run off. The water spills onto the street and makes multiple drivers crash. Gary slimes a fire hydrant, but Spot dissolves it, causing water to spurt out. SpongeBob walks Gary, as Karen follows behind with Spot. Spot runs rampant around the restaurant, eating various items, and SpongeBob suggests that he go on a walk to burn off some energy. He calls Spot back together, explaining that it happens all the time when he plays with Gary. SpongeBob laughs it off, going into the Chum Bucket anyways. Karen tries to cover up Spot exploding, but lets it slip and begins crying. SpongeBob arrives at the Chum Bucket, bringing Gary for his playdate with Spot. While this works at first, he bursts afterwards, sending Karen into despair. ![]() She takes a pump out of her finger and inflates him. Karen runs after Spot, but mistakenly squishes him, reducing him to a green puddle on the ground. Confident that she can still take care of Spot, Karen analyzes him with a laser beam, but Spot chases after it. Karen finds that Spot has gotten off his leash, and ripped up all the sticky notes Plankton left. Plankton's taxi arrives, and he says goodbye to Karen and Spot. Plankton is playing with Spot, and has left instructions for Karen on how to care for him. Karen packs underwear for Plankton's trip to the Doomsday Device Expo in Shell City.

![]() When they reach the size of a swollen raisin, which can take several days, they drop to the ground and, after several weeks, lays a few thousand eggs and die.Īlthough the Rocky Mountain wood tick is a known carrier of Rocky Mountain spotted fever, tularemia, and Colorado tick fever in the United States, these diseases rarely occur in Canada. Feeding females quickly increase in size, excreting a mass of black bloodwaste during the process. Tick bites usually don’t hurt, as an anesthetic is delivered in saliva, which prevents rapid detection. Ticks successful in finding a host attach their mouthparts to the skin by means of a rapidly hardening excretion. If the quest is unsuccessful, the ticks return to the ground until the next spring. Once on a host they climb upwards, giving rise to the erroneous observation that they have dropped from trees. Both sexes "quest" for hosts by waiting near the top of grass and low shrubs, readily attaching to passing people or animals that brush against them. ![]() The adult female is reddish-brown with a white "shield" near the front, and the similarly sized male is mottled-grey in colour. This tick is most frequently encountered between March and June, usually in open, rocky areas. ![]() Usually rodents and other small animals serve for the first two feedings, and large animals such as deer, cattle, dogs, sheep and humans serve as the host for the last feeding. The Rocky Mountain wood tick is a three-host tick, a new host being sought for each one of its three feedings which occur over a period of 1 to 3 years. It is not found west of the Coast Range mountains. In British Columbia, this tick occurs in the interior dry belt from the United States border north as far as Williams Lake and eastward into Alberta. The Rocky Mountain Wood Tick ( Dermacentor andersoni) Learn more about ticks that are commonly found in B.C., how to remove attached ticks, and how to prevent tick bites: A few simple precautions will decrease the likelihood of tick bites. They require blood as a source of protein for growth and egg development. Ticks cannot jump or fly and do not drop from trees. Adult ticks have eight legs, unlike insects, which have six. There will be between 2 and 4 freeze plugs, usually in a row on each side of the engine block. The plugs will be on either side of the engine block and are metal disks from 1.5 to 2.5 inches in diameter. Lastly, you’ll want to check the freeze plugs for leaks. Next check the hoses, as mentioned above, for cracks or connection issues. Check the radiator for cracks in the tank or damage to the fins. If you don’t want your antifreeze to keep running out or your car to end up on the side of the highway with smoke ballooning into the sky, take a look under the hood. Regularly Check Your EquipmentĬhecking under your hood for cracks in the cooling system’s components on a regular basis plays an important part in keeping your car in working order. If it is swollen and appears too big for the end connection, has cracks, rips or tears it is time to replace that hose. ![]() If you discover your leak is coming from the end of one of the hoses in your engine it may be time to replace the hose. Once you’ve located all these components and hoses, start your vehicle’s engine and allow it to warm up watching all of these components for signs of a leak like steam or drips. The other will run to the engine block or cylinder head. These hoses will be smaller than the others (one to one-and-a-half inches in diameter). They usually are on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Your heater core is a small radiator inside the cabin of your vehicle in the ventilation system. The other path your car coolant takes is through the heater core, which is best found starting at the firewall (the wall closest to the passenger compartment at the back of the engine). One hose usually leads to the thermostat while the other will lead to the water pump. The radiator will have two large hoses, each about 2 inches in diameter, attached to the sides or top and bottom. It will be just in front of your engine, with an electric fan attached to it. When identifying the different routes of coolant in your car, start by locating the radiator. Detecting a faint, sweet smell of antifreeze with no signs of a leak is also indicative of an internal leak. Even if you have depleted coolant levels with no sign of leakage, you could still have an internal leak that isn’t detectable from the outside of your engine. This is much different than the slight decrease in coolant levels that you’ll notice at regular oil-change intervals. If you’re antifreeze keeps running out quickly, you’ve almost definitely got a leak. However, there are a few more subtle ways that you can detect an antifreeze leak. Obviously, the most obvious sign of a leak is a puddle of coolant under your car or antifreeze leaking from the front of your engine. It is, however, still important to watch for signs of damage to any cooling system component. In this case, there is no way to prevent a leak. The years are also rough on cooling system components, causing plastic to get brittle and hoses to get swollen, which are the most common causes of antifreeze leaks. Flushing your cooling system is the best way to stop this type of leak. Dirt or oil in your coolant can accelerate wear in your system, leading to leaks in your water pumps, at gaskets, or at o-rings. Learn more about how to solve one of the modern automobile’s most common ailments below! What Can Cause an Antifreeze Leak?Īntifreeze leaks can be caused by a variety of things but the two most common factors are age and dirty coolant. Cooling system problems usually show up as either an overheating engine, or a leaking engine either in the form of puddles under your car or steam pour out from under your hood. ![]() If your car coolant is headed somewhere else, then you’ve got a problem. It could be a leak. This is probably the Edit Mode we use the least for music production, but it remains incredibly powerful. We also find it the most useful Mode to have engaged when editing interviews for Podcasts or similar, as it enables you to chop sections out of the recording, while ensuring that this doesn’t simply add a large section of silence. This mode can be used to try new arrangements in loop-based music, by shuffling the bars around. Removing a clip, or a section of a clip, in a track will move all tracks after the removed clip to be moved earlier by the length of the removed clip. Placing a clip at the start of a track will move all later clips later in the track by the same length as the clip being inserted. Adding a clip to the end of a track will instantly place it next to the final clip in the track with no gap. ![]() In Shuffle Mode, any edits you make are likely to have an effect on any clips in that track. Whereas in Slip and Grid Modes any editing only effected the clips that were selected. For most music recording purposes, a combination of Slip Mode and Grid Mode is all you’ll use on a daily basis. If your Kick is 20 samples after the beat, moving it to the next bar will maintain that exact 20 sample relationship with the bar marker. Relative Grid Mode isn’t constrained to just the sub-domains of the Time Scale either. So for instance, if your clip is one beat long and is on beat three of the bar and your grid is set to bars, moving the clip to the next bar will snap it to beat three in Relative Grid Mode, whereas in Absolute Grid Mode it would snap to the first beat of the bar. In Relative Grid mode you can select audio with the same precision as Slip Mode, but rather than edits being snapping to the Grid itself, edits become constrained to the relative position from the nearest Grid. There are actually two Grid Modes available in Pro Tools – Absolute Grid Mode, and Relative Grid mode. With other Time Scales it is possible to snap to minutes, seconds, or milliseconds, or to a round number of samples. This enables you to highlight exactly one bar of a phrase and chop it from your arrangement, then copy another bar from elsewhere and paste it into the empty space without worrying about timing issues. Set your Time Scale to Bars and Beats and the Grid size to the length of bar or beat you’d like to be able to edit, and any edits you make will snap into place. ![]() This mode is ideal for working with loops that fit within a predefined grid. The next most commonly used Edit Mode is Grid mode, which works a lot like Slip Mode except that this time any edits you perform with the Trim, Selector, Grabber or Pencil tool are fixed to Grid intervals in the timeline, defined by the currently selected Time Scale and Grid size. The Trim, Selector, Grabber and Pencil tools have complete freedom, and clips can be laid over each other, which will enable you to create crossfades or hard edits where necessary. With Slip Mode engaged you can perform edits on audio at up to sample-level detail. Slip mode is the simplest, and perhaps most common Edit Mode in Pro Tools, and unless you are working with predominantly grid-based music you are likely to want to remain in Slip Mode most of the time. ![]() Switching from one to another will change the behaviour of various other tools in the Edit window, such as the Trim, the Selector or the Grabber tools.
